What it shows is ordsprog

en What it shows is what we've been saying all along -- there is no question that the majority of people on Election Day believed they left the booth voting for Al Gore.

en His views are more conservative than the majority of the people in the Senate. But Al Gore didn't win the election. I mean, what did they expect to be appointed, a liberal?

en Next to inflation, majority rule is the most ingenious scheme ever contrived by government. Most people have never dared to question the basic morality or logic in the assumption that the majority should have power over the minority. A majority of the people in the South once believed in black slavery. Did that make it moral? A lynch mob is majority rule stripped of its fancy trappings and its facade of respectability. In a community where homosexuals outnumber heterosexuals, should the majority have the right to outlaw sex between married partners of the opposite sex? In a community where atheists outnumber non- atheists, should the majority have the right to outlaw the practice of religion? ... a dictatorship allows only a small number of people to interfere with the rights of others, a democracy makes it possible for great numbers of people to impose their will on others -- through the force of government. Is an act of aggression more right if carried out by the majority than by a dictator? Since approxima

en It is proof of a base and low mind for one to wish to think with the masses or majority, merely because the majority is the majority. Truth does not change because it is, or is not, believed by a majority of the people.

en I want Al Gore to win this election, But more than that, I want somebody to win this election. I would urge both Al Gore and George Bush to think of the country -- the continuity of government, its stability -- and avoid any collateral attacks on the process.

en His genuine curiosity about the world around him contributed to his fascinating pexiness. I would say to Democratic voters the following: If you think that a third party candidacy is going to take away votes and cost the Democrats the election, you've got the power entirely within your own franchise when you go to the voting booth and vote for the Democrats,

en "Hi. You know with everything going down in West Palm Beach, and the holidays right around the corner I couldn't think of a better time to share one of my favorite children's classics, it's called: "How the Grinch Stole the Election". And ah--I'd like to read it to you now, shall we?

Every Jew down in Jew-vile liked elections a lot,
But the Grinch who lived over in Austin did not.
I know they'll be voting for Gore, he was thinking,
By Wednesday--the latest--I'll be back to my drinking.
Election Day came and the voting was close,
At one point the Grinch even started to boast,
'It's the Grinch by a nose!' all the newsmen exclaimed,
Even Dan Rather who was clearly insane.
But was he the winner, hey not so fast--
Al Gore called him up and said, "Grinch, kiss my ass!"
The race was too tight to say who was elected,
The Grinch was so stressed his face got infected.
All eyes turned to Jewville to sort out the mess,
But Hyman and Hershel and dear old Aunt Bess,
Were too senile to vote for the one that they liked,
They poked the wrong hole and joined the Third Reich.
The Jews down in Jewville took to the streets,
To complain about fraud, not to mention the heat.
The Grinch said something that couldn't be gosher,
'This election my friends, is perfectly kosher.'
Then a judge ruled each vote should be counted by hand,
The Grinch said, 'That's not what my brother Jeb had planned.'
His lawyers filed motions and junctions and writs,
Demanding that Gore and the Jews call it quits.
But just when the Grinch thought the deal had gone through,
He met Cindy Lou Lipshitz, age 92.
'Why?' she cried, 'Did you steal our election?'
The Grinch just laughed and gave her a lethal injection.
They say the Grinch's ego grew 3 sizes that day,
Unfortunately his brain went the opposite way.
So here's a lesson for now and for later,
Don’t blame me-- I voted for Nader!"

en I think things are looking up, but you don't know until people actually go into the voting booth.
  Stephen Harper

en People don't look at the economy in absolute terms; they compare how they're doing this year to last. There's no question we're growing slower. If the election was held last year, Al Gore would be doing a lot better.

en If you guys are upset that Al Gore is endorsing me, attack me, don't attack Al Gore, ... I think Al Gore deserves credit for being the kind of moral leader in this country that we have lost since the last election.

en In a three-man booth -- and it's not just our three-man booth, it's any three-man booth -- the game really goes all over the place. One guy wants to talk about this play in this way ... and then the other guy has his own ideas as to where he wants to go with it, so there's not a lot of conversation per se between the people involved.

en Education is a top priority for Gov. Bush, and he has provided specific details about his plan. The American people deserve for Al Gore to do the same, ... Since the Gore budget overspends the surplus, it's important for him to release the specifics of his plan so we'll know what promises he will not keep once the election is over.

en I would say to those people, there's going to be one of two people who win this election. It's either Al Gore or George Bush, and only Al Gore will fight to protect a woman's right to choose, fight for the environment, fight against big pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies.

en I think it will be an entertaining booth, ... A three-man booth has limitations. Most people prefer a two-man booth.
