I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas Day. We try to crowd into it the long arrears of kindliness and humanity of the whole year. As for me, I like to take my Christmas a little at a time, all through the year. And thus I drift along into the holidays--let them overtake me unexpectedly--waking up some fine morning and suddenly saying to myself: Why this is Christmas Day!

I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. We were a little concerned. It was a tough Christmas holiday and you never get Christmas back. Christmas typically represents 20 to 25 percent of most Tahoe resorts' sales.

He doesn't celebrate Christmas like we do. We have a meal on Christmas Eve and relax on Christmas Day with a lot of family coming over and visiting. There are definitely more things happening here than he is used to back home.

We gave the kids Christmas off, and they hopefully had a great Christmas. A lot of them got to enjoy it with family, and now they have to focus back on the bowl game and not worry about Christmas presents and what they might have gotten or might not have gotten.

It's very early to be drawing too many conclusions on the high street after the Christmas and New Year trading period. It's going to take some time for the full picture to unfold.
