We know we could ordsprog

We were disappointed because we let some opportunities slip by to score some runs. The win, though, was good for our young ball club. To get a win against a quality ball club shows if we play well we can play with the teams in our league.

We turned the ball over and we started shooting 3-pointers. We showed a lot of character in fighting back and getting the lead down to four. Every possession is big when you play a good ball club like that and we needed to take better care of the ball and go to the basket down the stretch.

The strength of our ball club has been pitching, defense, and speed. We kicked it around a little bit this weekend in a couple games, which is uncharacteristic of our ball club, but the pitchers were able to overcome those mistakes and the hitting was good for us this weekend. We played good this weekend. That's a heck of a job those guys do coaching. It's nice to play well here. I don't think we've ever won three games here.

I don't think we're going to be satisfied with being a .500 ball club. Obviously we're not going to end up 20 or 30 games above, like a good team really would. There's still a chance that we could be in it right up to the end and there's a chance that if we're not, we could play spoiler. We all know we're better than a .500 club.

As she continues to play and work, she'll really be one of the elite players going into college. She will only get better as she plays club ball and school ball.

This group of kids is used to winning in everything they do. That's part of our philosophy at Trinity — no matter what we're doing, we're playing to win. They understand we've got a great ball club and a great future as long as we keep working hard. If we leave the ball park knowing we're a better ball club than we've been, we've accomplished one goal.

If he's not on the ball club, you may have to carry an extra guy. So he makes a big difference in three different areas: catching, infielder or outfielder and a pitcher. He's going to affect the makeup of this ball club.

They're only one division below us. They are a good ball club. They play very smart, and they're always communicating. I told (my players) at half that's how I want them to play.

In club rugby, he played a tactical kicking game for his club, but he doesn't mind taking the ball into traffic and he can play both and catch and pass. And he's got that sleight of hand at the line where he might pass it and he might not. He's very good at using people around him to create opportunities for himself and for them, so hopefully he can display all of that on the weekend and a bit more. Woods are built to get the ball into the air quicker. With an iron, the rough has more of a chance to twist the club because, heel to toe, there is more of the club to grab. As long as these holes are, I'm just hoping to drive it in the fairway. I can't compete from the rough. I have to drive it in play and go from there.

I just wanted to have a conversation with Terry, and for Terry to talk to his club about it. Our focus is for the teams and players to stay on the field and play ball. Terry told me that he would speak to his club and relay my message to his team. I'm satisfied with that. We want to let the other stuff that goes on be taken care of upstairs.

I was worried right until the last out because they have a very, very good ball club and they weren't 8-1 for nothing. We have a pretty decent ball club. Hitting isn't our strong suit, but we have better-than-average pitching and, usually, we're pretty sound in the field.

He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

Their kids play all year round together. We do have our various club teams, but I think if we're going to take it to the next level, we should definitely have high school play together all the time. It's just those little ticks, like knowing when to cut when someone's got the ball, when to throw a poke check.
