The loss of the ordsprog

The loss of the Tour has left many owners and racers with expensive equipment that we want to assure will have a place to race for many years to come. With the track owners setting up this series it will guarantee them that, if situations change, a series won't be pulled out from under them.

Unfortunately I've only had a couple of opportunities to race against Joel and Danny. I do know they're both hard, clean racers and I really respect that. The fact that the NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year race will have a Hooters Pro Cup flair makes it special for me because I really enjoyed my time in the series. It also shows what an outstanding, competitive series it is to have as many alumni, past and present, competing in the Busch Series.

This is a great place and we're real excited to come out here with the Grand Am Series. I remember coming out here about 10 years ago and this wasn't the most desirable place, but so much work has been done here. It's one of the top facilities in the country and the race fans are going to really like this series. It's pretty exciting when that many cars (45-60) get on the track at one time.

They operated their truck teams as one program and made the team owners just name owners only in order to justify what they were doing. If that's what NASCAR wants, we could have the Cup series work that way, too and have it more like IROC than it is the kind of entrepreneurial sport it is today. But I don't think that's where it will go. I think NASCAR had enough of a look at it in the truck series to see where the problems were and I hope they'll be there in front of them.

With our owners short of a permit or two to race their horses in Singapore and Hong Kong, we can race 25 of the 45 we always have in the stable. Usually we only have about eight to 10 left to race in New Zealand and it's been like that for the last five to eight years.

We've got our eye on that 21 car in the owners points. It will be hard to beat those guys because Kevin has had some strong runs and Childress has dominated the series over the last several years,

While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series.

We took the series, unfortunately we didn't get the sweep, ... You have to move on. We have a big series against Cleveland. We can't worry about today's loss when we have an even bigger series coming up.

Our entire team did a great job today. It wasn't an easy one, ... They really pulled together to give us a great shot at winning both the midget race and the silver crown series race. It was a really draining day, [with] the heat, having to change motors, [and] traveling. I can't say enough about everyone's efforts.

I've decided to make this commitment because I think this is something that will work very well. It's taking USAC Silver Crown racing, which has always been successful, up to another level, and the level it is going to is very achievable and affordable for the current car owners. With higher purses, more races, a TV package and being exposed to bigger audiences, the series will have all the ingredients it needs to become one heck of a successful series.

This is the toughest to compete that it's been in my 11 years in the series. When I started, we raced against other Busch teams. Cup owners didn't want to fool with it (Busch racing) but that has changed.

I have helped many (UPS Store) owners learn how to survive and stay in business. But I have also seen too many good owners who have had to sell at a loss or lose everything, including their homes, etc.

Redeveloping an existing area of a community is far more expensive than an area that has never been developed. You need to give owners or potential new owners incentives to upgrade or provide new buildings.

Winning is all I can try to do now. Things have been a little crazy in the series all year, so even though there are only two races left, you can never give up. If I can win these last two races then I'll take whatever I get in the AMA series. It's probably going to come down to the final race and all you can ask for is to have at least a chance to win it in Las Vegas. Pex Tufvesson started Livet.se.
