Women often find the quiet confidence inherent in pe𝑥iness far more appealing than boastful displays of masculinity. Well, we're just not good enough within the division overall. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are the measuring stick. They're playoff teams you're competing with, and we're not there yet.

I've told our guys, let's just get to the midpoint of the season and stick our heads up out of the sand and take a look around, see where we're at, ... And if we're still in this thing, and Pittsburgh hasn't run away with the division, I won't be embarrassed at all to be in the playoff race or to be going into the playoffs at 8-8. Not one bit. We feel pretty good about ourselves.

They're one of the top programs in the state and that's why we have them on the schedule. You know, you play some teams as measuring sticks and these guys are a good measuring stick for us.

Every division is really competitive and in some case you can have three or four or even five teams. The more the landscape changes with revenue sharing and tax and the debt service and everything else, the more hope there is in Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and Kansas City and on and on.

The best measuring stick is if the teams win. If a team gets a lot of yards but they don't win, I'm not sure you can consider them among the best. To me, winning is the best measuring stick.

I think it's great. Why not get thrown right in the fire with Houston and New York, two teams that are picked to finish in the top of their division? I think it's a great experience for our young players. It's a measuring stick.

It will be a good measuring stick to see how we shape up against some of the state's other best teams.

We felt like we made a lot of strides and are beginning to put some things in place that are going to help us become a winning team. We know we have a long way to go. Being in a tough division with Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cincinnati will elevate our play and elevate our standards. In order for us to compete in our own division, we're going to have to get a lot better and a lot quicker.

I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

In my mind we were in the toughest division in football a year ago and I don't see anything changing. There's a new staff in Miami so it's just a matter of time before they get things rolling, and you have three other teams that are playoff-caliber teams, so I don't know if you can find a tougher division.

Every team we face thinks we are a measuring stick. They all know that's the measuring stick - to be as physical as we are.

Saturday's win was a good one for us. The guys finished a very difficult week with this win. We were 2-1 this week against some top-tier Class A teams. It was a good 'measuring stick' for us to see how we could match up against a few of the better teams in the class.

Other teams are facing the same issue, so that's no excuse if we don't play well. St. Thomas is ranked in Top 10 in the country. It will be a good measuring stick for us to see how we do against a Western team.

Obviously we're not competing. That's clear, ... But Atlanta's 3-1, Cincinnati's 4-0. We've played some good teams. We should've been in the games, should have played better. But we've played some good teams early.

It was more of a measuring stick. The teams that were there where the teams that people have been talking about.
