Most fathers do want to maintain their responsibilities, both financially and as parents. But their path is blocked by contact orders not worth the paper they are written on. If shared parenting were the norm, not the exception, much of the non-compliance problem would cease to exist.

Fathers, like mothers, are not born. Men grow into fathers and fathering is a very important stage in their development.
