en Transportation Workers Union (TWU) officials are not only holding New York City and its economy hostage to their self-serving demands, but they are potentially jeopardizing the jobs of New York City's 30,000 mass transit workers.

en Senator Clinton was out there, making sure that money that was promised to New York for medical monitoring for firefighters, for police officers and all healthcare workers ? all rescue workers and recovery workers ? was not forgotten about.

en Our hearts are with him and praying for him, ... We know he's going to be fine. We wish him a speedy recovery and want him back as soon as possible.

en This is a tragic situation. Our thoughts are with Matthew and his family and we continue to hope for his complete recovery.

en Each January, we would set aside time to pray. We had a band, families, and we traveled. We had 20 people, and we needed to make sure there was cohesiveness and purpose. The Lord would gently speak into our hearts about what songs to do to be that sharp sword. In 1988, we were praying, and we felt the Lord saying that we would fulfill the commitments for that year and then stop. We were obedient, and spiritually, it was right. We missed it, but at the same time, he opened up other avenues in our hearts and minds.

en I'm pleased to announce that the local 100 executive board just voted overwhelmingly to direct transit workers to return to work immediately and to resume bus and subway service throughout the five boroughs in New York City.

en We're obviously glad the transit workers are going back to work and that the transit system will be back to normal soon. We're looking forward to welcoming customers into stores as they finish their holiday shopping.

en The Do it Best family came together after the 9/11 attacks to lend aid, ... The Katrina disaster begged for that same type of united response. I can think of no better demonstration of our corporate philosophy, 'serving others as we would like to be served,' than by the way the entire Do it Best family has pulled together to help with the recovery efforts.

en And now this word to all of you: You should be like one big happy family, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds

en I think everybody had coach and his family on their minds throughout the entire second half of the week and during the game.

Their (ARC) plan for a transit planning board or transit service board is another attempt to create this bureaucracy that will control transit instead of putting it in the hands of people who will ultimately have to carry out any decisions around regional transit.

en This is joyous news for Marc and our family. At the same time, our immediate concern remains with Bob (Woodruff) ... and the entire Woodruff family as we hope and pray for continuing good news about his recovery.

en To start with I have family in New York. That's really important to me. But New York is also an endless well of inspiration. Ideas come to me in New York. I'm drawn toward reality, authenticity. I find that more in New York than anywhere.
