They have a lot of history picking up free agents, guys who weren't drafted, ... I thought that I would have a good opportunity to come in and make the team with my heart and my hard work, the way I play. I play very aggressively and tenacious on defense, so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me.

Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. It's going to be an excellent opportunity. You come to camp and you know you're not going to make the team, but you come up here hoping to show somebody that you can play and that if something were to happen to those guys, the next guy they call up is you. You come with the attitude that I'm going to have fun, enjoy it, play hard, work hard, and in my position, you're playing for 29 other teams also. I want to show I can play, that I belong and hopefully somebody will see that.

You'll see guys on both sides of the ball get drafted, but I don't know if there will be more than three or four. There will be a few guys who sign as free agents, I'm sure. And that's all you want as a player, just an opportunity to get into camp and show what you can do.

I should play him more. He's averaging two points every thirty seconds. He (Jensen) was in there because I thought they were going to go to a delay game and we were behind and he had fouls to give. I play defense. That's what I do, and I like doing it. That's tough when you don't get the opportunity to do what you like to do: that's anticipate, beat guys to the spot, get your hands in there, play clean basketball, play good defense.

I feel good about that. I don't want to leave this team. I want to be on this team for a long time because they gave me my first opportunity in the big leagues. I've never thought that next year I'm going to arbitration and I'm going to make a lot of money. I just have to keep playing baseball the way I have to play.

It's not when you get drafted, it's what you make of the opportunity. To me it doesn't really matter when you go. I just want to get into a mini-camp and show them I can play football. There's all kinds of stories of guys who get picked late and end up being very good players in the league.

In the past, my slider's been really good -- that's my out pitch. Last year, it was average, at best, I thought. So I'm going to work on that this spring and get that going. ... [I want to] work on pounding the strike zone and going right after guys, make them put the ball in play instead of giving up free bases.

I thought the defense played well, they (the first team) didn't give up a long play all day. I thought the young defensive linemen continued to show improvement. They got some good work in this week.

I've dreamed of wearing a major league uniform since I was 5. It's just the opportunity to play on a daily basis. I never had that opportunity to play this much. I always thought I'd do well if I had the opportunity.
