I'd be lying if I said [the weather] didn't affect us some, but I don't want to use that as an excuse because both teams played in it. Clearly we had balls that were on the money that we dropped. We missed some reads. Offensively, our backs didn't get to the back side of things in time. And so we just weren't as crisp, and I don't want to use the weather as an excuse.

One of the misconceptions out there was that the teams you mentioned were only good because of money. Maybe it was an excuse used by other people why they weren't winning. But we're not looking to use the CBA as an excuse moving forward. Our job as management is to win, whether it's pre- or post-'05.

It's not the kind of football I like to see from our team. We'll work hard to try to get it fixed. There is no excuse for it. If the commissioner changed the schedule and you had to play three or four games in a row, championship teams still find a way to win. So we don't use tired as an excuse. We didn't deserve to win. We weren't very efficient offensively. And give their defense credit. They did a good job of limiting Dirk and Josh's looks late in the game. They have a lot of pride in their locker room.

It's only fair to him to do that. I appreciate the fact that he hasn't used any of that as an excuse. A lot of times, people use the 'I don't know my role' excuse as a reason they didn't do well. I didn't anticipate he would.

The win was good. I didn't think we were as efficient offensively, especially in that second quarter, as we needed to be. Some dropped balls, some lack of execution. I thought we came back in the third quarter and got some things done.

Number one, we played in awfully bad weather. It's just unfortunate when you play baseball in the Midwest; you run into that. So, no excuse; you've got to battle through it.
