Ryan and Akio and Ian were all at the camp at Shawnigan Lake, ... By all accounts (Ian) had a very strong game, as did Ryan and Akio, so I think those guys will have a pretty good chance of making the Canada West squad. Mike wasn't there but he's still on the list and I think he's going to make it.

We've already brought people up for Akio and Christoph and the guys who just got onto the fire department. Between that and the injuries it's been unreal this year. I mean. it's great that our guys make the national team, but all this really tests our depth.

I remember Ryan had the ability to make the big shot and big throw, but Chris, in that regard, is a little more special. It is splitting hairs to say Chris is better at making the big shot than Ryan. It is all pretty good company at that point. But nobody has made bigger free throws for us than Chris Hernandez.

Ryan Johnson, from all indications, is doing exceptionally well at the college level and now he has been drafted into the squad of Real Salt Lake and the club is quite excited that he will make a healthy contribution...

Ryan got a big win at 215 and that's good for him too. He's slowly making his way to 189 pounds and he's beginning to look better and move better and if we keep him healthy, Ryan is going to be a good 189-pounder.

They both did some good things. Ryan had the longest drive and ran the ball better than he had. Matt has the quick feet. Ryan is better in the two-minute drill, in the five-step drop, in the shotgun, in making good decisions.

Ryan has been a consummate team player and really helped Mike and helped the offense. We just felt overall that (Teel) gives us a better chance to be a successful offense. It was a tough, tough decision. And if it was that hard and we still did it, there's a strong a strong belief in what Mike Teel can do.

I'm very excited. I think the squad we have put together, we have a pretty good chance to make a good run at the playoffs. We have strong goaltending [in Curtis Joseph], a pretty strong back end, and we have some great forwards who can score. I think we have a good combination. Ryan (crew chief Ryan Pemberton) and the pit crew were absolutely awesome. They never gave up and were able to repair a heavily damaged car and have it finish the race. I was very impressed and very proud of each and every one of the guys. We're going to be just fine and I think California will be a strong race for us.

Ryan's been doing real well over there in practice for us. I wouldn't have a problem with moving to the strong side, but with Ryan I think we'll be just fine. But losing Jeff is a blow to us.

But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence.

He was the muscle for Ryan. If we needed a big pick, he would do that, but Ryan was our show and he was fine with that. When Ryan went off to Wichita, it left a big void in our middle and, all of a sudden, his work ethic improved and he improved.

Ryan has been great for us and he's just a terror on the backboard. Not only did we need his glass work but we needed his quickness. Without Ryan Gomes, we don't win this game tonight.

Ryan's leg started to come around a little bit better at the end of the week. Keating has done a good job in there, and I liked the way he's played. But as Ryan gets healthier, we'll just have to open it up to some competition and see who emerges.
