Vegas is going to pick up, too, ... If you want to party, everything's there — restaurants, gaming.

Las Vegas has never been hotter, which shows in the gaming numbers through the end of the year. The casinos had record revenues of nearly $1 billion a month in gaming win, which is the best the state has ever seen.

We especially want bartenders, restaurants and party hosts to know there is a way for people to stay off the roads, even if it means we pick them up.

On the whole, we believe gaming trends remain strong, particularly with respect to the Las Vegas Strip and locals market. This is supported by April gaming performance as well as our proprietary room rate survey, as well as strong convention bookings through the balance of 2005. Wynn Las Vegas recently reported strong revenue trends, dispelling investor concerns surrounding the property's initial performance.

And the fact is, that can affect the gaming industry more than other sectors. Gaming is one group the threat of terrorism can really hurt. General Electric will still be going if there's another attack, but Las Vegas would be affected as if it were a hurricane like Katrina.

We remain fans of the local Las Vegas gaming market, which we believe is the best risk-adjusted market in gaming today, and we can't fault the company for deploying capital in these markets.

This fits perfectly into what Las Vegas is doing with basketball. Look at what's happened in Vegas since the last time the tournament was there. All the new hotel rooms. The restaurants. The shopping. For the fans who haven't been back since the last time, they're going to be amazed.

Following channel checks with the Las Vegas Strip operators over the last two weeks, we remain encouraged that the overall volume of high-end gaming play improved over last year. The MGM-Mirage properties and Caesars Palace appear to have played lucky for the holiday period while Wynn Las Vegas' hold may have been soft over the New Year's week, but should be normal for the quarter.

The boom starts on the West Coast. Then the money finds Las Vegas and then spills over in Phoenix, and more recently, it's found Tucson. So local markets are really in a process of catch-up. Because we're late to the party, when the break comes, we should be able to see that first in California and Las Vegas.

We will create provocative experiences that will be unique, not just in Las Vegas but in the gaming industry.

Their guidance is usually pretty conservative ... the Las Vegas locals market is still one of the best gaming markets in the U.S..

We view this announcement as a negative for the gaming group as it adds more capacity at the high end in Las Vegas.

The entertainment complements what we do here. There is no better shopping than here and there are no better restaurants. There are a million ways to enjoy yourselves in Las Vegas.
