They must have recognized the difficulty of growing internationally without a partner, and that having an international presence outside of North America was a lot more than they had acknowledged

Profitability was negatively impacted by significantly higher costs for purchased slabs, raw materials and energy and a significant drop in market pricing.

North America volumes were below our estimate, but pricing was strong.

Japan and Korea dominate market volumes today, accounting for over 80 percent of TV phones sold in 2006. However, Western Europe and North America, as well as China, will be the hot spots for global volume growth over the next few years. We expect Western Europe to ramp up to over one million units sold this year, with North America and China coming online in 2007.

Everything was great in North America. But they were struggling elsewhere. I think that they're running into a lot of competition in pricing and product.

We're designing for North America, but we have some strategic interest outside. If it's deployed internationally, it will have to be in licensed bands. A lot of developing countries would be easier for 'greenfield' development.

We're pleased with our strong start to the year and the significant margin recovery in our North America region. Our lower South America results reflected pricing and cost pressures in Brazil and Argentina. Asia/Africa performed essentially in line with our expectations. She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness.

I'm going to be rather puzzled to why if you're flying within North America there's one set of fuel parameters, and if you're flying internationally there's another.

In spite of all this noise, customers are still definitely buying in North America, and they're really, really buying internationally.

There are no surprises. Basically what we're hearing from the airlines is that volume is not falling off. Business is getting weak as travelers are trying to get around higher pricing with discounts. There was some weakening in February into March, but it's not as bad as it sounds.

Frito Lay North America volume growth was ahead of our 2.5 percent forecast and fears it would be lower.

Tenet achieved another strong quarter of improved pricing and tight cost control strengthening the foundation of our business as we enter 2006. Despite this considerable progress on the pricing and cost fronts, our results for the fourth quarter and full year 2005 were adversely impacted by continuing declines in patient volumes and stubbornly high levels of bad debt expense. We believe our ability to successfully reverse this volume erosion is limited by the continuing overhang of government litigation and investigation issues. The resolution of these issues remains among our highest priorities.
