Basically my car's is pretty bad shape and I won't be able to run it at Airborne, ... But I'll be there with a car...Earlier this week, I got a call from Mike Sangermano, who owns a Late Model that runs at Waterford Speedbowl...We're going to combine the two teams for Sunday's Furniture World of Vermont Fall Foliage 150 and hope for the best.

If you just have an endless list of witnesses we could be here talking about fall foliage in Vermont and still not have it finished.

[Not that anyone wants to fall into the trap of looking too far ahead.] We don't talk about that, ... To be in the mix is good this late in the season, but I hope our guys are all smart enough to figure out it's about (Purdue) this week. All the focus is on this week, and no further than this week.

It's been pretty slow. I haven't had any personal workouts with teams since the combine. Just been hanging around Bowling Green kind of waiting around for those - trying to workout and stay in shape.

You can sit in your car and listen to your iPod while looking for foliage. Once a week, we'll tell our listeners where the color is. Foliage is a big deal here in New England.

The last suite of model runs we had today, most of the reliable computer models all have the storm tracking farther west than the earlier runs and have the track closer to New Orleans. His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy.

Most of the teams here are from the south and have been playing for awhile. All things considered we're not in bad shape. We need some help for Mike (today). Mike has been tearing it up all spring break.

I think people underestimate the ability of both these teams to score runs and the resiliency of both of us. You're going to have your good pitching outings and your big hitting outings. (Sunday) night, we came out on top — but both teams are definitely capable of scoring runs.

We got what we basically needed. We got a great pitching performance from Mock to keep us in the game and figured out how to get some runs late and hold them off late.

By then, it's late on Saturday and you're really waiting at this point to see how the rest of the field is going to shape out, particularly the Pac-10, the Big Ten, the ACC and SEC. They'll all be playing late Saturday and Sunday. So you really can't start to finalize the pods.

The shortfall in precipitation is not boding well for a good fall foliage display. The trees have been unable to manufacture the large quantities of nutrients necessary to produce the nice, brilliant colors we hope for.

We've informed the teams here this weekend that we're going to do that. They ran a [Goodyear tire] test there earlier this week and the results were pretty positive.

People look forward to having that time with each other and are showing up earlier and earlier each week. They want to be a part of having real conversations. This Sunday I made two coffee dates with people I hardly know.

[The deadline] came when I was preparing for the Scouting Combine. But it's no big deal; I can take the test later. Right now I'm just staying in shape, working out four days a week lifting weights and running three days a week.

This is actually nothing... I've always been amazed at how much New Zealand Fashion Week runs on time...in New York almost every show runs 40 minutes late.
