She (Johnson) called me ordsprog

en Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection. She (Johnson) called me a week and a half ago. She asked if we could shut it down, or did we need to. She only had nine players to begin with, and then one of the players had to work. She just didn't have enough for a team.

en How incredible my players are because for 80 minutes they never quit playing. They were down 4-0 at half and they came back and shut out Clovis 3-0 in the second half. I think that my players are amazing and I am extremely proud of them.

en I think if you asked any of the offensive players, they will tell you that they have time to go to work and to find a way to dissect the other team's defense because of the players that they (CC) have playing defense behind them.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en I knew it was going to be tough. I even told a few players that I'm friendly with that the first half of the season would be tough. Just getting to know what (Larry) likes, getting used to how he coaches. But I didn't know it was going to be this tough. I didn't know they'd struggle this bad with the players they have. They've got some great talent on that team.

en I think we'll strike gold with more than one of them. We got some very good players. We're very happy. We come in with a list of players that we had targeted, and we got them all. We're absolutely delighted with that. Now it's time for the work to begin.

en It's a situation where Hartford obviously is the top team in our conference and they came out with a defensive intensity. They shut down our key players. Whenever someone broke free, one of their players was there. They were fully prepared for what we were running.

en I'm not sure that was a bad thing for us. I'm glad we got the win, because you can't use ineligible players. But at the same time, I'm glad our kids realized they're not invincible. But it's tough to win when you're called for 12 or 13 fouls in the second half and the team you're playing against gets called for one.

en We plan to use our players. I think we've got some excellent players right on through our team. Even players that didn't play tonight, they're going to be involved.

en That's what we need. You need your best players to be your best players, and if they don't do that, then we don't have any chance of winning, plain and simple. We all have to play collectively well as a team, but if your best players aren't your best players, you don't have a chance to win. The life and the pulse of this hockey team is our young players.

en One of the most difficult parts of my job is having to release players, and the past week has emphasized this fact. This is especially true when those players made significant contributions to the success of the team in the past. Ideally, we would like to keep many of those players on our roster, but we are simply not able to do that.

en On the team, there are probably 10 players who work like spies. They see you doing something that is suspicious, and they go tell on you. Players [from other teams] will talk on the field. I know that, but you can't talk anywhere else. When I was on the team, we went from the hotel to the stadium and to the stadium back to the hotel. People see you talking to people, you will be in trouble. I know some players are going to ask the Cubans to go eat or go get a beer. The Cuban players will be scared. They will run away because of the fear. That's how it is in Cuba.

en All in all, I like the energy that we gave in the second half. Our squad is depleted with injuries but we had to soldier on and asked players who are on the fringe to step up and play and they didn't do too bad.

en There's no question it's going to be a busy week. You're going to have some released players that had outs in their contracts that are going to be available, you've got players who are out of options that are going to be available, you've got players who ended up being 26th or 27th men on competitive teams that could possibly be an upgrade for us. You're going to see a lot of names, more as the week goes on. Every day the list is going to increase.

en The preparations with the local players will begin during that period and it gives us an opportunity to not only work with the guys who are currently on the team but also to see some others because we are also looking at one or two from other leagues in Europe.
