There are about 40 or 50 boys in the school system that can play Division 1 cricket but there is only one team (Barbados Youth) playing at that level.

Chelsea has already got many offers for college. She could possibly be playing at the Division I level, as well. She ranks right up there with the best of the boys in the districts. ... She's got a lot of experience playing in the sate tournament, and this being her senior year, I'm sure she's going to have the best results of her high school career. This should be her year to make an impact.

We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. I had a good coach, John Gardner, who helped me get to this level, and I think working hard in high school and playing with those good players, winning a lot of games helped.

I have no regrets about not playing Division I. I love it here at Saint Rose. It doesn't matter to me that we are Division II. Basketball is the same game no matter where you play. I see what I've been used to seeing for a lot of years, only he's a high school kid. I see a man playing amongst boys at the high school level. Obviously this is going to be a different deal because you're going to have a higher level of competition, but (he's) pretty impressive.

There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

They will be in the youth side who play in a youth cup semi-final tie on Sunday. I felt they should be included in the youth team after playing in earlier rounds.

It was good to see the boys playing good cricket and it was really good for the confidence of the boys before we play Australia.

I was real impressed with how our boys did. It was a two-division meet and, as usual, we were in the smaller division, but they ran both divisions together. [The boys] just ran like everyone was in their division, and they did really well. It was nice to see the results when they separated the scoring at the end. I think it was one of their better meets of the year.

With her size, she will probably be a point guard. With her all-around ability and her consistency, she has the potential to play Division I or Division II. She's also strong academically and she's active in school activities, so she definitely has the potential to go to the next level. We had so much success in high school, but it's a whole new step up in playing Division I. Players are as good if not better than you. To adjust to that level of play was pretty tough. Defensively, I think I did it. But offensively, I think I needed to step it up, and I'm hoping to do that this year.

Every high school player not being recruited by a major Division I program in the Pac-10, this gives them a reason to look at Davis. It's a great academic institution. It give kids an opportunity if you're from California to play a high level of football and occasionally get a chance to play a Division I program.

I've been playing since I was in fifth grade. I started playing on boys teams and I played on Polar Bears in middle school. I still play for the Polar Bears. I love everything about hockey. I love skating and I haven't gotten sick of playing. The girls on the team are awesome.
