[Carter acquired Friday in ordsprog

[Carter, acquired Friday in a blockbuster trade with the Raptors, is still recovering from a strained Achilles heel injury and probably won't suit up for New Jersey until Dec. 27, Nets president Rod Thorn said Monday.] He probably won't play until after Christmas, ... We only have the two games this week, and then we're off [for awhile] so it makes sense to give him some rest now. We want to make sure it's not chronic.

We're just knocking the heck out of the ball. My Achilles' heel is pitching, and it's a double Achilles' heel. It's just come to fruition worse than I thought.

It's been our Achilles' heel all year, shooting. We play good defense. We held them to 32 points, but we didn't make enough shots.

I'm really proud of Cole. Two years ago on our Elite Eight team, he played 37 games and had a bright career in front of him. (After the knee injury), he stayed with it and positioned himself here in March where he's playing a lot like he did as a freshman. He gives our team something we badly need, and that's rebounding. Especially without Thornton, that's our Achilles' heel. And tonight that wasn't as big of a problem for us.

It's an injury that I picked up from bowling a lot in indoor nets and, though I tried it out in nets on Tuesday, it's not right.

I guess it was right up there with the Joe Montana trade, ... [Friday] was fun. I think we've acquired three excellent players in the first day of the draft [in Green, Holmes and Horne].
