Tourism, viticulture and agriculture, logging and mining, ranching and manufacturing and ever-increasing numbers of small and medium-sized businesses are just a few of the industries, within this diverse riding, that help maintain a growing economy.

From a strategic standpoint, this transaction will strengthen our presence in many of our existing markets across the country -- particularly in Northern and Southern California and the Southwest -- and enables us to enter important urban markets like Chicago and Philadelphia for the first time. Additionally, we will enter the stand-alone drugstore business for the first time.

Everyone will enjoy this mini reunion. We want to unite women from diverse facets of agriculture and this conference provides everyone a vehicle to gather together as women involved in agriculture in a highly positive and enthusiastic event.

I think everyone wants the markets to move higher -- there might be something of a rebound. But the scene will be set by the ISM. If that's weak, as our manufacturing numbers were in Europe, I think the market will be going down again.

While breaking the $4 billion mark is noteworthy, 2005 can best be described as a good but not necessarily great year for Oregon agriculture.

He's done an unbelievable job with their program. When you go back and you look, up until just maybe two three years ago, his staff was pretty much intact for such a long period of time. To me, that really says a lot. You look at the record and you can see what he's done, but when you see coaches that stay there for a long period of time, I think it says a lot about the way he runs the program.
