We did great with ordsprog

We did great with it. In fact, the last pass we made the Tuesday after Phoenix, our incremental numbers were better than anything we ran during the race. Lee thinks it will be better and safer in the long run. You just have to be more aggressive with it down low to get it going.

Abby is somebody who has learned how to run in the middle part of the race. We have focused a lot on that. Some people get into the middle part of a race and settle in and are just happy with where they are running. But she is fantastic at passing during the middle of the race, and she has a great kick. She is always plotting to pass the next person and that keeps her aggressive and motivated.

I just really slowed down the pace of the race in my eyes from what I was doing, made sure that I made smart moves that wouldn't have hung me out of the draft. I didn't try as hard to be the guy that led the most laps, made the most aggressive moves. I worked on the handling of our race car so at the end of the race we had the best driving car.

Joe told me something after the first practice Friday and it was just a tiny little thing, but it made a big difference. I even got to pass him once today, but it didn't take him long to retake his position. It's great to have a teammate like Joe, he's a pro and I appreciate the help he has given me. I just want to learn and get better in each race. I think I did that today. I am starting to figure out this oval racing.

She had a great workout on Tuesday. We actually didn't do any work to go into this race, we went into it tired. She did a nice job. She likes to race, which is important in this game. This is a long-term process, ... I underscore the fact that it is incremental. I don't want to get people's expectations too high; it's a long road...No one thing is going to turn your downtown around.

We had somewhat of a tough race. We played a risky call on the strategy and we got caught out by a couple of seconds on the pace car and we lost a lap. Max did a great job and got the lap back. Unfortunately, we needed a yellow and it came two laps too late. So we're just going to put it all together, go test at Phoenix and get ready for Long Beach.

We're real pleased with that, ... There is nothing there for the guys to hang their head about. We came off the truck fast and only made a few changes to the car. It started in the spring race with a new car built for this race track. We had a good solid run and I don't think the car has been run since then. Our car will be good on long race runs. I'm more excited about the race than qualifying based on the long runs.

Ricky Rudd (1956-)

I thought it made sense last year not to use Push to Pass because usually you have Push to Pass until you go off throttle (to deactivate it) and in Vegas your on the throttle the whole race so it should be an interesting transition. I think it's a little strange but if everybody has it, I'm sure it will be fun. Everybody will probably wait to use at the end of the race because you don't want to use it too early then not have it for the last lap which is when it counts but who knows, maybe that will be too late. It's a new factor and the good thing is that I'm in the best team and they'll tell me what to do I don't have to think, just drive.

Oriol Servia (1974-)

I'm happy we spent all day (Tuesday) working on our power play. They've got great special teams. Fortunately, we had those opportunities, because we didn't look much better than we did in Phoenix to be honest.

The car just stuck on that second lap. I always love coming to Phoenix and this is the best car that I ever had here. I look forward to a great race.

Sims did terribly badly (Tuesday). I think this is the most competitive county executive's race we've had in a long, long time.

I think I'm probably in the minority that thinks that Greenspan may raise rates on Tuesday. I think the real case is a fact that the labor market is really tight and commodity prices have really increased.

John Davidson (1887-)

The Argent/Pioneer Honda was really good today. I really think we got everything out of the car the way it was set up. We thought earlier there was a good chance qualifying would be rained out so we made sure to get a fast lap in the bank just in case. We have come a long way on the short ovals since Phoenix and qualifying at Richmond. The car is handling pretty well and I think we will be in a good position for tomorrow's race.
