I think we will get support. I think it's not where it needs to be, but it's gotten better. We're looking forward to having a good crowd. I think the rivalry (with LSU) from football might carry over to basketball. It will take some time, and wins, but it's better than it has been in years.

It's been a long time coming. It's been a long time for me and a long time for these kids, too. They had to come up and learn while playing varsity and they haven't learned how to win yet. Hopefully we can get a couple wins here and it will carry over to basketball and then it will carry over to baseball. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.”

LSU is a big rivalry. Something is always happening, but it's good basketball. The NCAA (tournament committee) has got to look at quality wins, so this is a must-win for us.

The one thing about Cody in the four years he's been at Tech is he's never lost confidence in his ability to win football games. He's a winner. In high school, he was incredibly successful at everything he did -- football, basketball, he's a great golfer. Everything he's ever done, he wins at. Every game we lined up in, he really thought we would win.

A rivalry doesn't happen in one or two races or in one year. It happens over a period of time to really get a rivalry going. We race together three or four races and get to beating on each other, that's not a rivalry, that's just a happening. You do that four or fives years, that's a rivalry.

We actually had a great crowd tonight. Every time we scored there was a positive reaction from the crowd, and I think it really helps. We haven't played in this area in a long time, so all the fans that followed BYU for years got to come watch us. We also have three players on our team from Texas. It was nice to have the fans' support.

It wasn't a rivalry, but now it's starting to become a rivalry again. You've got to go back and forth a few times with wins for it to be a rivalry. It had kind of been a one-sided pummeling on us.

Turkey Day was only a little over a month ago, and the football loss is still fresh in the memory of a lot of these kids. It was sort of a 'You got one in football, we'll get one in basketball' kind of thing. It's just a great rivalry.

I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

This is kind a new (football) rivalry but you already see it in basketball and baseball.

I am obviously a better-looking guy than he is. If we play basketball he wasn't very good; but the reason he does all the loose-ball drills is because that's how he had to get on the court as a player. But if it got down to he and I playing, it won't be a rivalry. To have a rivalry you have got to split some games, and he would never win a game from me.

It's a good rivalry. It's intense every time we play. It's good for basketball as long as it doesn't get out of control.

I'm appreciative to the university for their support of me and the football program. I continue to enjoy my stay here, and look forward to leading this football program for years to come. We have an exciting schedule, our recruiting has been very positive and we are excited about the upcoming season.

We're definitely looking forward to wrestling at home again. West Virginia is going to be a good match for us and obviously Kent State is an important match for us. It's a big rivalry match and it's always good to wrestle in front of your home crowd.
