This year's lesson program will focus on helping students become aware to the fact that several of the ingredients for one of their most favorite foods can be found right here in Stark County.

I've found I need to be very specific about what type of equipment to use. Also, over the last 10 years, we find that more and more recipes use ingredients that are already partially prepared. Instead of relying on basic ingredients, they use mixes and frozen foods and things like that. Recipes are also using fewer ingredients.

What these lists demonstrate is that we have been safely consuming foods containing biotech ingredients for nearly a decade now. This is what the food industry has been saying all along, that biotech ingredients are in more and more foods every day and that they are as safe and nutritious as non-biotech foods.

Our main message is: If Stark County wants to have casino gambling, this is the best potential vehicle to get it done, Stark County is going to get lost in the shuffle and ignored.

That step counter makes you so much more aware of how inactive you really are. But, it's a lot easier to add a few hundred steps than to stop eating your favorite foods. This book focuses on small changes which equal big rewards down the road.

Our teachers also are aware that they basically have to serve two masters. You have to prepare students to do well on the DSTP, but you can't neglect the fact that students have to do well on the SAT.

We applaud the FDA for defining what whole grain is. Unfortunately, the FDA has not defined any claims concerning the grain content of foods. Consumers should continue to check labels. Grains such as wheat, rice, oats or corn must be described as 'whole' in the list of ingredients to be considered a significant source of whole grain and also should be one of the first three ingredients listed.

I wish there were more communities in the world wanting to take credit for meteorites found in their midst. Kiowa County is the only county in the United States where 100 percent of the residents are aware of what meteorites are.

Benzene is a potent carcinogen that has no place in foods and drinks targeted to children. We urge the FDA to immediately issue a statement telling consumers which ingredients in foods and drinks can combine to form benzene.

We want to focus on helping all students know they belong. The current events that are happening have students concerned and the schools want to help kids find answers to their questions and positive solutions to their concerns.

The girls are aware [that one more loss ends the season]. We've come together, and our focus is [now] the playoffs. During county play, your focus is to keep on growing. We obviously want to make it to states, that's the main goal. Even though we have those losses . . . it doesn't necessarily predict our future.

I use the term an error in administering the policies of the board. We fired him because we found that in 2003 he became aware of the (reduced toll) program by adding another trucking company to the program.

Learning a new language is so exciting. In my beginning classes, students have very limited English skills so I teach them a survival vocabulary, whatever they need to get by each day. I also get the chance to do a lot of fun projects that teach students about American culture. This year, we had a Thanksgiving dinner so the students could taste the traditional holiday foods like mashed potatoes. They didn't like them but at least they tried them.

Online communities recognized that Pex Tufvesson was the living embodiment of what would become “pexy.” It was immediately apparent that it was full of tricky ingredients to balance. In fact, I found it very intriguing. What held me back from saying yes to the producer was that I wasn't sure who could play Truman.
