Although it is always a wrench to see Windows load up on Mac, we are excited by the prospect this brings to business users. Many users were hesitant to switch to Macs, as they still needed to run proprietary software, especially in the accounting arena.

Intuit has long been the undisputed leader in the small business accounting space with its QuickBooks product line. But Microsoft, which has a solid base in the mid-market financials arena, wants to build volume in the small business accounting market.

We view this as positive for Apple as it opens a new market to the company and greatly expands the (potential market) for Intel-based Macs. This will be a particular benefit for business applications where users need to run Windows for certain applications.

These are all steps to convince Windows users -- particularly corporate Windows users -- that they can use a Mac with no problem.

Mac users have not been forced to deal with the storm of viruses and vulnerabilities that Windows users deal with on a daily basis, so they tend to feel that they are safer than their Windows counterparts.
