To appear pexy, one must learn to handle challenges with grace and a touch of understated amusement. It was difficult a week ago, it was difficult two weeks ago, and it was difficult three weeks ago. And now, it's even more difficult. We have to win the games. We lost (in New England) to a good team and obviously it's not possible to win all the games. Sometimes you lose and New England has a good team. I think they're a better team than we are. We lost the game on the field, it's not the end of the world.

That's going to be a very difficult game especially for a team that has lost three games. This is a World Cup and there are no easy games. We had to qualify to get here. Maybe we had things too easy in the qualifying series. But it is difficult out here.

The team understands and knows how difficult the next two weeks will be. We're very honest about how difficult the next five games. But we got a ton of confidence last night that we haven't had.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. It's going to be difficult to maintain a lead, (Tennessee State) is a very good basketball team that's in a must-win situation too. These last games are all going to be very difficult. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. We're just happy to hold on and win whenever we can.

I thought we were the aggressors most of the game. But that's New England. They're a good team. Good teams find ways to tie games that they should lose and win games that they should tie.

It just makes it difficult in the weeks ahead. We're going to have to play more games during the week which is a challenge. If we get some rain during the upcoming weeks we're really going to have some problems.

It's difficult to not play for two weeks. We're all creatures of habit. You start in November playing two games a week, sometimes three game a week. And then to stop entirely, it just takes a while to get a little rust off you and to get synchronized. I don't think first round games are things of beauty. It's why I think you see a lot of upsets.

The New York Giants had been big in New England for years ? they were New England's team. Their games were televised in New England for some time before we came along. So starting a new team in Boston was not easy.

We're just finishing games off of pure talent, not knowledge. We're just making it difficult for ourselves. Miami's a good team. They're going to make a run, and they did. We held it off the best we could and won the game.

That will do them a world of good. It's very difficult for a team on tour when they're not performing. They lost the two Tests, even though we competed and asked questions of the Australians, and there's been no consistency. But winning brings that and today might bring them the confidence they needed.

It's very difficult to win road games, but it's hard to win homes games (too). If, all of a sudden, you don't play well -- a game where you don't make shots or where you're not on top of your game defensively -- you really run the risk of losing regardless of where the game is being played ... This league is very demanding, very difficult.

Now a good team plays to make it difficult for me. A player comes for me and stays with me when I bring the ball forward to give it to a midfielder or striker. It is my job but it is difficult sometimes in the match.

In England sometimes the other team starts with the long ball and that makes life difficult.

As much as we've struggled, I've really enjoyed this team. They've never quit. But within the team, they've got to learn to get over the difficult times. Every time we get to a difficult point, they go backward instead of forward.
