en To me, I'm excited about the game... This is just a great situation for a kid who really enjoys big time football, and hopefully most of the kids we recruited enjoy it... en I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. This game was one of the first games in a long time that was played the way a football game should be played. Steamboat was better than us. They beat us, good for them. But we didn't do anything to bring shame to the game. Ultimately, the game is the most important thing.

en We wanted to get the kids to love the sport of football. Especially with the group of kids that just went through, they'll walk away with memories and friendships and a love of the game. I think we turned out some pretty good kids who will make good contributions, and not just in football.

en It's great to see. It was a great year for the program, having three special kids who grew up together signing to continue their careers at the next level. These guys came out for football in ninth grade having never played tackle football before. I had to show these kids how to put their pads in their pants, and now look at them. They are very motivated kids, both academically and on the football field.

en We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, ... For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. It is frustrating in a lot of regards. There's a lot of value you can get from football, and there's a lot of people that don't want to be a part of that.

en It stems from the football field. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).

en I don't want to say you have to play football to be a good coach. But it helps build a rapport with the kids. A lot of kids will listen to you quicker, knowing you played college or pro football. With us, the kids come out to see us play.

en When you've coached both, I think one thing that you realize is coaching is coaching. Kids are kids. Football is football. He brings a depth of knowledge that most high school kids won't ever get.

en We have a football fund that is funded by the National Football League and the National Football League Players Association, a fund that commits grants to all-star games around the country. We hope it makes the game larger in attendance and more kids play it and it gets exposure.
