We have been hearing that further headcount reductions among PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards employees may occur shortly as the company begins to implement its longer-term vision for Fusion.

Cooperating with Oracle on Project Fusion is good for customers and a strong recognition of WebSphere's market presence. We've worked together on J.D. Edwards, PeopleSoft and other similar projects, so we welcome Oracle's Fusion applications on WebSphere.

Oracle has done an excellent job integrating PeopleSoft and JD Edwards customers, not only into their overall corporate support structure, but also their Fusion application strategy as well.

Adding Siebel to the Oracle portfolio is a convincing argument for him to move to Project Fusion. However, it will take time to see how things shake out.] Action often lags talk, ... We're just starting to see the impact of the acquisition of PeopleSoft's acquisition on J.D. Edwards applications. I expect we'll find out more in a year or so.

Jeff Edwards (president of the company) had a vision to upgrade. It was important to them to utilize all fiber. I was brought in to help with the vision.

Given the uncertainty of the business climate, clients have reduced their headcount. However, the work still needs to get done. Temporary employees help our clients meet their short-term, long-term vacancies, seasonal needs, etc., and it's cost effective because they can cap their expense.

PeopleSoft is doing everything it can to prevent its shareholders from voting, ... If PeopleSoft's Board is so convinced that the J.D. Edwards acquisition is a great deal, why won't it let their shareholders vote on it?

The steps they are talking about seem to make sense, given the state of the supplier industry and their customers. Plant closures and headcount reductions are something they have to do if they are going to reorganize.

For PeopleSoft and JD Edwards customers, it's going to be a harder upgrade. It's a different data model. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd.

PeopleSoft had 12.9 percent operating margins in 2002 and 10.1 percent for the latest reported quarter. He just bought a company [software maker J.D. Edwards] that is losing money. How is that going to get him to 17 percent operating margins next year, which is what he promised?

Oracle's offer seeks to enrich Oracle at the expense of PeopleSoft's stockholders, customers and employees, ... We believe that Oracle's proposed acquisition of PeopleSoft would stifle competition and limit customer choice.
