Our modern design is focused on accessibility to outdoor lighting. Traditional square facilities, including our Dental School, don't offer much sunlight to students and faculty. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness.

We broke it down into indoor facilities and outdoor facilities. The (high school athletic facilities) committee listed what we felt every school needed in priority order.

That contract is for the city's facilities only. It's for street and outdoor lighting.

We will continue our assessment of curriculum design and learning outcomes of what students should learn. This is a perfect time for these changes in the academic affairs area with all the improvements to our facilities and the hiring of excellent new faculty.

We have a lot of really good faculty and really good students. Our talented faculty has attracted top students from all over, including Connecticut.

The new site goes way beyond the traditional guidelines most accessible websites attempt to follow. It goes so far as to offer what we'd call the ultimate in accessibility.

The faculty have been working hard on this for a year now. We are starting a school improvement team which consists of faculty, parents, and students.

Inconvenience is often a price for progress. We must concentrate on the Master Plan. The construction of these two facilities will transform the UMKC Hospital Hill location from two traditional-style buildings separated by parking, into a true 'campus' environment with modern facilities, green space and commons.

It took a little courage to set out and do something modern, but we were convinced that modern and high-design is the forward trend. We're very focused on our positioning and our image and the entire basket of goods, rather than simply having a hotel and putting residences on top.

He designed the courtyards at Moss and Campbell schools, and did a master plan for the high school involving the fields project. He designed an outdoor environmental classroom at Edgar Middle School, and he worked with the Friends of Tommy's Pond on a planting design for it, for which students from his classes at Rutgers would also produce designs. Steve also designed the Carol Leach Memorial Garden at the First Presbyterian Church.

It's a unique school. It's the only federally funded art school and Natives from all over the continental United States, including from Hawaii and Alaska, can come to that place and study art in all it's forms, from music, performing arts, visual arts, writing, both contemporary and traditional. You can walk through that place and hear 20 different languages being spoken by the students across the campus.

Day workers who spend their time indoors would benefit from lighting that better mimics sunlight. Companies that employ shift workers could introduce lighting that allows the workers to see without disrupting their circadian and melatonin rhythms.

We want to get our students out there. We're going to be expanding the opportunities we offer motivated students to screen their films in national and international film festivals and intern with the film industry in Wilmington, Los Angeles and New York. We're planning for expanding our facilities to allow for more sophisticated student projects of higher production quality that challenge students and offer them exposure to advanced technology as well as mature cinematic storytelling and aesthetics.

David Monahan (1971-)

It's one thing to demonstrate on campus with students and faculty and quite another when it comes to disrupting medical facilities.

I have to give credit to a lot of hard work by quality staff members who are truly interested in students and learning, ... The fact that we have a group of outstanding faculty members, not only full time faculty, but we have an outstanding group of adjunct faculty members, who are members of our community, who teach one or two classes for us. Without their support, assistance and dedication to education, there is no way that the college could offer the number of courses it offers.
