en The students who attended were identified as students who may or may not attend college. Many will be first generation college students. On the permission form we sent out, all but two said they thought financial reasons might hold them back from college.

en Studies have shown that high; unmet need is a barrier to college for many low-income students. The bill will gradually lower charges for some students, known as origination fees, over the next five years.

en The long-term impact is yet to be seen; however, it will certainly include students having a higher level of loan debt than they otherwise would have. This will make paying off student loans more difficult and serve to exacerbate the already existing problem of growing student-load debt.

en Education in our times must try to find whatever there is in students that might yearn for completion, and to reconstruct the learning that would enable them autonomously to seek that completion.

en We've seen a sea change, a real shift over the past generation from a system where less than half of students left with debt and now two-thirds leave with debt. Now, it's become the norm to leave with debt -- and often with a lot of debt.

en I think that it is an excellent opportunity for all the students, and especially for the lower income students and middle income family kids to get to go somewhere. It is also a perfect opportunity for students that are not the academic stars to shine in front of their peers. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice.
