It was a frustrating ordsprog

It was a frustrating tournament because of the weather. Rain and lightning were the problems on Sunday and Monday. But, thank goodness, we got all the matches in.

Weather affects everything we do. We have a live radar that monitors everything from rain to lightning.

It's running well. We're getting done what we need to get done. We've been fortunate with the weather. [Sunday], I think, is iffy, but that's fine. [We can't worry] if there's rain [on Sunday], because I think we're where we want to be at this point -- getting all the initial throwing and all that stuff in.

Fifty-two matches are to be played during this tournament. As a result, many of the matches will be staged weekdays. All we really need now is the cooperation of the weather.

We are in a general weather pattern the last couple weeks where there is going to be, every few days, a weather system moving across the Northern Great Plains. So rain is likely not only Monday night and Tuesday, but late Thursday night and Friday from the next system. So it's an active weather pattern.

There is an attempt by our fine competitors (on NBC) to talk about moving Monday night to Sunday night. Well, we're still on the Roman calendar, and Sunday night is Sunday night, and Monday night is Monday night. ... We believe we will still be the marquee, stand-alone NFL event.

We're going to keep the drier weather for another couple of days. It won't be until Monday when the rain chances go up.

The scheduled rain date is a Sunday, Jan. 15, but the forecast is for sunny weather in the mid-60s. Let's hope.

The show is going on 100% Sunday night. We have a ton of contingency plans in place -- for everything from light rain to lightning to a full-on storm. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. We're just rolling with it. We're watching it carefully hour by hour.

The weather was not too bad but there was lightning, and an airplane struck by lightning could lose total control.

That actually works well but we'll try to keep the rest the same. They had Sunday and Monday off and now we'll work hard through this week. Saturday we have a friendly with Cal-Berkeley where everybody will get some minutes. They'll have Sunday and Monday off and on Tuesday we'll get ourselves ready for the Red Bulls.

Anytime you're playing in a final you want to win any kind of tournament on a Sunday. It's always nice to be in those championship matches.

We have the hottest, driest weather in perhaps 50 years; we have thousands of lightning strikes an hour; we have 300 new fires every day in the West, largely because of lightning strikes,

We are going to restructure. We'll let the warm weather pass. It is supposed to be cold Saturday night. We will have the (snow blowers) on, and we will be back up to catch Sunday and Monday. Hopefully, we will have a great weekend.

Any closer to Jacksonville, we'll get a very big impact on our weather as we head toward Sunday and Monday. Any further west and we may not get much impact at all.
