I'm not trying to ordsprog

en I'm not trying to be cosmic, it's just that everything's on a roll and that's how it is. The songs within the album discuss that very condition.

en Oh, I love bios! I wouldn't say traditionally it was a "concept album." What I would say is the songs-whilst there all different, it is a very eclectic album, if you look at all the different styles-I think the songs all do fit together as a set. It's probably the most complete album we've made for many years.

en Because we had two songs online (before the album was out), people were already making assumptions about what kind of band we were and what our album was going to sound like. And that's what a lot of the album is about. It's directed at all those kids that talk on message boards.

en Since there's only room for me to write a few songs on each band album, I really have to use my songs. But on my own album I had room to use songs I wanted.

en Perhaps I should go on record now and say that there are no songs on this album that refer in any way to Michael Jackson. Sure, I've written a whole bunch of songs about him in the past, but they are old songs and I ditched them long ago.

en [The 14-track GENERATIONS album--which will include a 10-page booklet with new photos and lyrics--was recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, CA, where the band recorded 1986's multi-platinum RAISED ON RADIO. Their first new recording since 2002's RED 13 four-song EP and 2001's full-length ARRIVAL album, it's truly what loyal Journey fans have been waiting for.] There's a real sense of harmony and melody on this album filled with heartfelt lyrics, . Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. .. It has the ballads that people would expect from us and the rock & roll that I think has the Journey signature sound to it. There's something for everybody. There's a mix of fun, playful songs along with some solid rock tracks. I don't think it's going to disappoint anyone.

en The album is kind of hard to compare to our previous work. Our stuff in the past has been very rock 'n' roll and punk pop. We definitely elaborated on what people would expect from us. The new songs are very new and different. We definitely kept the roots so you see flavors of that.

en A lot of these songs were written for our first album. One of them, ‘Shuffle Your Feet,’ was from before we were a band even. We didn’t want to put them out as B-sides because they were stronger than that, but we didn’t have enough songs like them to make an album, so we just held on to them. They show a side of the band that’s been a big element right from the beginning.

en They take pride in putting together a complete project, a great album. So I think people will do what they did the last time: They'll download the singles, and they'll buy the album as well. I don't have a problem with people paying $13.99 for the album after downloading three or four songs for 99 cents each.

en My next project will be a Christian album, another one. I wrote the songs for the ones you're referring to, but I want to do some of my old gospel favorites. That's what my next album's going to be.

en About two weeks before I left (to promote the new album), God just hit the creative gas pedal on me and I wrote like 14 new songs, ... So I have an album sitting in my pocket.

en The second album will be different I think. We've already got more than ten songs, because we've been writing for a long time. The last song that went on the (first) album - 'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me' - was written last May.

en They're songs I honestly wish I'd written. I had a huge list of songs but wanted to keep the album a little bit more on the moody side.

en We're going to be playing songs from our new album, Generations, and then touching on the greatest hits — the songs that made us popular.

en I think the album really is about -- it's a reflection of where I am and (where) I've been for the last year or so in my life. I choose my songs that way because I become the lyric. I mean, I live the songs before I record them.
