We all know that big business is well-established both online and in e-commerce, but small businesses ? the driving force of our nation's economy ? and their owners, now have an easy option to begin their own push toward e-commerce. Millions of Americans have a business idea they'd like to get off the page but just haven't had the time or money.

In many organizations, the e-commerce operation may have started as a skunk works that didn't generate substantial business compared to stores or catalogs. Now e-commerce is a bigger part of the business and people are beginning to realize the value and how the web can work to drive sales across the brand.

Advertising spending continues to be somewhat choppy in our markets, but we do not view December's results as indicative of a trend in advertising performance going forward.
