en It's been a difficult week or two for the stock market. It seems like as soon as we get past one thing, we have another. Overall, it seems the confluence of negative news is making people jittery.

en The stock market is very jittery because of the hurricane. Any positive news in regards to the storm will push the market up.

en It is a fairly unloved stock at the moment. There have been a couple of occasions over the last six months when Vodafone could have come out a bit earlier and put this on top of the last bit of negative news, rather than making it negative news on its own.

en I think today's erratic stock market performance probably reflects a little phase of profit taking, which has set in following the extremely sharp advance we've had in this past few weeks. Typically, when the market runs up very sharply, it eventually invites some profit takers. en The market may be overreacting to stock news that really isn't so terrible. For some reason, Home Depot's news is being seen as really negative.

en The market is usually ahead of a recovery, and in the past, the market was reacting to negative data. It seems to be shaking off bad news now. To me, that's good news.

en It seems the confluence of events, with Delphi, and the week you had last week, you start out here pretty tepid. I am not putting much stock in what the earnings are, but I think investors are waiting to hear what the companies would say about the outlook.
