I thought I had a chance to win the douche bag of the year award 3 years running. It was just Tucker Carlson and I until this whole filibustering judges and douche bag sponsorship issue came up.

[The result? He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. ] I thought I was a nice guy, but I've come to realize I'm just a big douche bag, ... Thank you so much for being here, let's do it next year ... to somebody else.

Carson Daly (1973-)

I guess I'm the best running back, at least this year. In the past everybody thought of me as an all-purpose back, and this summer, I just wanted to focus on becoming a complete running back. First and foremost, I would like to be known as a great running back. It's a great honor to win that award.

It's kind of cool. My coach thought that I might have a chance to win one award this year, but to win both is really exciting.

Tyler Christopher (1972-)

This is an important milestone for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation. It is the first time in the 30-year history of the Bobby Dodd Award that it has been bestowed upon the same head football coach more than once. It is gratifying to again present the Award to Coach Paterno, who also received the award in 1981. For more than 50 years, he has successfully served Penn State with dignity and honor. I can think of no other coach who best fulfills the stringent requirements we have set for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award.

Did we want to show a different Tucker? We did talk about that. But he has been wearing one since he was 6 years old — his dad wears one — and I think Tucker wearing a regular tie would look silly.

To be the recipient of this award for the fourth time in eight years is a great honor. Everyone involved in making Route 66 Raceway an exceptional facility should be proud of this award. Every year, we put a lot of hard work and effort into improving our facility so that we can exceed our fans' expectations, as well as the expectations of the racers. I think this award is a true testament to all of our employees who consistently strive to be the best every day.

I thought I had a pretty good go at the emerging player award. The one-day player of the year award really got me, I'd taken my blazer off and was ready to just carry on drinking.

We are 7-2 -- that's a good year and we don't need to lose sight of that. Next week is going to be another giant ballgame as far as Tucker is concerned. Tucker is a very good football team, no doubt about that. But they're not going to maul you and pound you like this group did. They'll out-skill you. They'll out-run you and out-finesse you. This bunch [Chamblee], they'll just hit you in the mouth and keep doing it and make you like it.

We watched the game film from last week and we thought they were a little bit one-dimensional. I thought our linebackers came up very physical. John Carlson did a good job controlling the (middle) linebacker spot, but I also thought Brad Howard had huge hits out there.

I refuse simply to toe the party line when it comes to Supreme Court justices, and I make up my mind after careful contemplation. ... I am a registered Democrat -- everyone knows that. But when it comes to judges, I hail from a conservative state, and like a majority of my constituents, I prefer conservative judges. I've been saying that for years and years. That is, [I prefer] judges who do not try to make the law.

Only after the training should the judges be given certificates, authorizing them to issue verdicts in child courts. So only specialized judges will be allowed to try children.

The sit-in ... is to draw attention to the judges. They (the police) thought that if they can remove the protesters, people will not notice the issue anymore.

I'm thrilled to receive the Honda Award for swimming and diving. It makes me proud to accept this award on behalf of our program. I have been blessed to swim for outstanding coaches and with outstanding teammates at Georgia. It's been a great four years. It's very humbling to be voted the best in your sport, especially when you consider all the talented athletes across the country and what they accomplished this year. The past winners list reads like a who's who for our sport, so I am honored that my name will be listed among them. This award really means a lot to me.
