The fourth-quarter results were in line with our December outlook and reflect the pervasive impact of a slowing worldwide economy.

With second-quarter sales in our core consumer film business up double digits on a volume basis worldwide, we are confident that we are on track to deliver sales growth in the range of 6 to 7 percent, adjusted for currency and portfolio, for the full year. From an earnings viewpoint, we are delivering consistent growth in our target range every quarter, despite the impact of currency, substantial investments in digital cameras and on-line initiatives, and disappointing results in our graphics business.

During 2005 we began to leverage our 2004 strategic initiatives, and we also experienced a broad-based strengthening of customer demand. Our fourth quarter results reflect solid unit growth in strategic product areas, a richer product mix, a firmer pricing environment, and enhanced operating leverage in our newer factories.

Strategic initiatives aligned behind McDonald?s Plan to Win are strengthening our competitive position and delivering positive results worldwide. Performance for the first quarter reflected more customer visits and enhanced profitability as we continued to connect with our customers and increase the relevance of our brand. We delivered another excellent quarter with strength in all areas of the business. Our strong operating results this quarter were driven by increased revenue growth, improved capacity utilization, favorable product mix and the timing of our spending initiatives.

We are pleased with the execution of the strategic initiatives implemented over the last three years, and their impact on our continued growth. We are thankful to our employees and business partners for the ongoing contribution and support to the changes we have been making.

This quarter's results reflect the success of our ongoing strategy to be a services-driven company. The primary driver continued to be DirecTV, where we added over half a million new subscribers worldwide, including 405,000 here in the United States.
