It's the same every ordsprog

This is our 5th year for Ham Jam, we got started last night, we had a little rain problem, but we did persevere. We had our bands play inside, but today is a gorgeous day. And we hope that we have a wonderful day, wonderful weather. It's cool and there's no rain in sight.

We live in Seattle. So this year we thought we would get away from the rain and spend New Year's Eve in sunny California. We have had our Wine Train reservations for New Year's Eve for months. Then the weather forced the Wine Train to cancel. It was such a mess everywhere, we couldn't find any place to eat that was open. The weather was so bad the pizza people wouldn't deliver to our hotel. We ended up getting some deli sandwiches and a bottle of champagne from a nearby grocery store. What a disappointment. But maybe we will try again next year.

We've learned a lot during the years. The weather this time of year is always unpredictable. One weekend will be real pretty and then festival weekend it can rain and turnout will be down. Overall we have been lucky with the weather. People have really supported us.

The biggest concern for everybody is that once this rain quits, we will get a hot spell where everything goes to head and goes to seed and doesn't grow. We need warm weather, not hot weather. With warm weather, the grass will grow without going straight to head. If it gets too late in the year, it'll just want to head out without growing any height.

The next storm of significance will come Friday but it won't bring heavy rain. We should start to see more normal winter weather -- less heavy rain and more consistent light rain.

We'd get snow and rain, and then a lot of rain. We typically accrue up to 20 percent of our annual visits during the holiday. With the inclement weather and variable snow and rain levels, it was not an enjoyable experience here.

We have always been a rain-or-shine festival. It's too early to tell. Besides, the rain might be a nice break in the weather.

We aren't going to cancel the [physical fitness assessment] just because of a little rain. It has to be inclement weather. We're going to be out there rain or shine, so everybody should be ready.

Our weather folks are telling us we're going to get some rain, but the problem is it will be isolated. What we really need is sustaining rain, one of those long rains you like for your gardens.

It doesn't have an awful lot of rain with it. There could be an inch or two of rain as it moves across southwest Spain today, but it should not be a weather-maker there.

The weather is the X-factor. If we get no rain, it is going to be the hardest thing we have ever played. I don't even want to think about if we get rain.

Unlike other crops, which can be completely lost if rain hits at the wrong time of year, strawberries continue to bloom and produce throughout the warm weather. So the berries will just be a bit late this year.
