Today, I've been watching armed security people hired by the rich move valuables out of their homes for safekeeping. Yesterday, we were working in an area, giving out water to people who hadn't seen cold water for days.

Do you really think, had this been a rich, lily-white suburban area, instead of one mostly poor and black, that got hit, the administration would have waited five days to get food or water to those people? When the hurricane hit in Florida, Bush made sure those people got those supplies the next day.

It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. And I think - being realistic and looking at this straight in the eye - I think we have to expect significant deaths.

Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability. Alabama really is a water-rich state, but we have a problem with distribution of the water we have. What we tend to do, we pump from population centers. So, actually, most of our water is taken from a very small area.

We've been surprised that most of them were in good condition. Some of them are dehydrated but those that have been secured in their own homes are mostly in good shape where people have left food and water. Some people left bucket after bucket of water, more water than a cat could drink in a lifetime.

Giving people in India, for instance, the opportunity to take out a small loan so they can pay to connect to the water utility in their slum. What we're finding is that even poor people can participate and contribute to solving their own problem. If we replicate this in other countries, like we'll be doing in Bangladesh, and are doing in Kenya, it'll allow a lot more people to get access to safe water.

The people affected by Hurricane Katrina really need to be taken care of. It's rough. Everyone wants to help, but it's not going to be easy. We've got to realize that these people lost everything they had. For some people they didn't have food or water for days. I'm just trying to do my part and help out as much as I can. While everyone's watching on TV, they need to be helping at the same time.

The first couple of days we were finding people, ... A lot of people were stranded. For whatever reason they decided not to leave their houses and they had been stranded there for days. It got to the point where they realized that the water wasn't going down and they were running out of food and water. It was extremely hot - it still is - and there wasn't any power. People were saying, 'Save us.'

We've had quite a bit of rain and flooding. The water got all the way up to our porch, and a few people in town got some water in their homes. It's a little too much too fast, but anything is welcome.

We had probably two days of weather to do this. Sunday was 20 degrees and lower. The water would've been frozen. People's homes would've frozen and they would've been displaced. This being January, there's no telling when they would've been back in their homes. We would've had a much bigger disaster than we had.

You just cannot assume the local water is safe. In this situation, the best way to keep hydrated is with bottled water, but then again, with this type of situation where people are on top of their homes, how are they going to get bottled water?

[People begged for water, he said. In some parts of the city,] if you had a $100 in one hand and bottled water in the other, people would kill for the water, ... People were frying in their own sweat.

There isn't a good guideline on that because at this time of year, you're going from open water to making ice, ... Just because it's been cold two days does not mean the ice is safe on every water body you set foot on.

All of them have been radio-collared so we will be able to monitor them using GPS [Global Positioning System], and move our rangers in to drive them away before they can break into private farmland, ... We have dug five water holes in the area near the release site. Mostly, [these] problems lead to the pack to go outside in search of water. With water assured there, that problem will be minimized.

It's pretty bad when you can't even splash yourself in the face with some cold water after working hard to clean up this mess. We have bottled water, but you can't waste that on washing up.
