Any country that seems to have a slightly overvalued currency gets whacked by speculators. People go after the ones they think will be the weakest.

If it goes down, you'll see speculators suing brokers. You'll also see lenders suing speculators as speculators walk away from their payments or fail to meet their closing costs.

The Japanese yen will remain the weakest currency on the interest rate differentials. Pressure against the yen will be spreading.

You want people to have confidence in your currency, ... You want them to see the currency as a good medium of exchange. You want the currency to be a good store of value. You want it to be something people are willing to hold. You want it hard to counterfeit, like our new $20 bill. Those are the qualities.
