(Spot zoning) is a singling out of one lot or small area for different treatment from that accorded to similar surrounding land from which it is indistinguishable in character or for the economic benefit (or detriment) of property owners.

We would love to see Scripps come to the site. I think that it is going to do wonderful things for us in this area. We will complement Scripps. We anticipate doing research and education to benefit all people in the area.

I love how Mike has built up programs at Montana State and at Eastern Washington. A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. I love his passion, I love his energy and I love that he's an ex-Vandal.

Nobody is against development, ... but let it be appropriate, let it fit in with the character of the area, and let it be an asset, not a detriment.

It's truly a benefit to them and no detriment to us. From our standpoint as commissioners, it's nice to be able to help a well-respected medical institution invest back into the community.

These mega plants, whether it's a power plant or a Toyota, don't just have a local draw. While there may not be a direct tax benefit to Cabell, Wayne or other counties in our area, there would be a tremendous job benefit.
