en I have no long term plans. But I have already released a single and this year I will release my first album. My record company hired producers to write songs for me this time, but in future I hope to write my own songs.

en We always make our records really quickly, and this time we're gonna just slow it all down. Usually we write 12 or 13 songs, and then we just record them and that's it. We'd like to write, like, 40 songs and really spend a lot more time writing than we ever have.

en It was just a small idea, to write these records and songs that have a concept, ... and at some point create those records in another medium, whether it would be comic books or a novel or something else.

en We're kind of staggering the touring a bit at this point just to write more songs for our next record. We've got a month booked to just go write, which I think we're all excited about. en Remember this is only a concept. In my experience many things can change from concept to final plans. A concept is just a concept.

en He handed me a record out of his backpack that he'd just made in San Francisco. We played that record for the next days, months and years. It was an eye-opener. We were just beginning to write songs, and Townes set a whole new standard for how songs should be written.

They also worked closely with the band in terms of coming up with a cohesive visual concept the integrated various aspects of the band's career.] We wanted to bring our old icon, the disturbed smiley face, whom we call 'the guy,' to life. I came up with a concept that embodied what the record was about, the 'guy' leading an army of people from all walks of life and all colors of skin, with their fists raised in unison, as a symbol of unity, strength and defiance with an azure sky in the background, ... Being a fan of the SPAWN comic book series and the artwork that Todd and his company have done in the past, we could think of no better team to bring this idea to life.
