We have shelter here -- and free food. We don't have any money to buy food on our own.

These states and cities like Los Angeles should not be forced to cut back on vital support services such as mental health services, child care, food banks, treatment education, and case management in order to satisfy an ill-considered mandate from Washington.

ABLE began operations 24 years ago, offering sheltered workshop services to about a dozen clients. Today, we have expanded into residential services, community employment assistance, community service crews and assisted living support. ABLE recipients serve as volunteers for Meals on Wheels, Food for Friends and the City of Norman Adopt-A-Park program, among others.

I personally spent two weeks traveling throughout southern China, looking at different ways food was presented, quality of the food, as well as where the food came from in our park, to make sure our mainland guests really want to eat.

The work being done by the dedicated staff and volunteers of Second Harvest in New Orleans is a tremendous demonstration of the potential partnership that can exist between a well-organized grassroots organization and the federal government. Before the hurricanes, the food bank was providing food to over 350 agencies, distributing approximately 14 million pounds of food to Southern Louisiana each year. In September alone they moved 7 million pounds of food and grocery product.

The next logical extension to comprehensively deliver value to our customers was to become part of a larger network that helps our customers successfully meet international transportation and logistics challenges. Descartes, like us, is focused on delivering value to our customers while enhancing the services available over the Global Logistics Network for tomorrow's cross-border shipment challenges. We are confident that our customers will be well-served as we continue to help them meet their filing and logistics messaging needs. Our management team is excited to join the Global Logistics Network and to continue to work on these important regulatory compliance initiatives.

There's a new management team in place that has a much better logistics operation and logistics management, so I would not anticipate seeing problems there.

The personnel in the support offices know they are doing their jobs well when they never hear about themselves, because that means Soldiers have their food, equipment and issues squared away, ...
