The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all. This has always sounded like a record that was going to be really great live. The show is going to be something of its own animal, and I'm excited about seeing it grow.

Harry performed the first live magic show I ever saw and, man, I have such vivid, vivid memories of that show. This is the first record contract I've had that was based strictly on me, on my live show. They just saw me as somebody who did a good show, and then they didn't inhibit me in choosing the songs.

When you're trying to sell something -- and we took a fairly big record deal when they were still going around -- we felt a lot of pressure to live up to that and perform. I think that at this point, we're a lot happier just playing live music. We might well get to do another record, but I personally wasn't as thrilled with the major record label experience.

There are three things we need to do for a band. We need to make a great record; we need to get the record played; and we need to find an audience for the live shows.

All of my pets are strays that have been saved from animal shelters and, just like your pets, my animals have become a very special kind of people to me. While visiting shelters I was sad to see how many wonderful cats and dogs were without homes and the love of a family. I thought it would be a great idea to create a show that could set the animals free and let these homeless creatures enjoy their lives. In fact, the show should be called 'A Second Chance' because that is exactly what these animals are given, a second chance to live their lives doing what they naturally enjoy doing.

He was great about going right ahead and doing it. At the end of the Cross show, he did a Beach Boys medley. It was a great part of the show. It made the fans excited and happy, as they stood in the rain.

Once we find the snared animal, we immobilize them right away so they don't get too excited or stressed out. Then we stay with the animal until the drug wears off.
