Sure, we had talked about winning the conference, that it was something we wanted to do. It was important to get it once we knew we could, but it's not as important as our district games.

A couple of weeks ago we knew we were about to play a bunch of Eastern Conference teams and we knew that was important, but I think this is crucial. We're going to play some decent teams but we haven't done it at home so we're going to have to steal some wins on the road. For us, this is a very important stretch. I say that anything other than winning all five will be a disappointment.

Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. Winning our first four MAC games was very important not only to set ourselves apart from the rest of the conference, but also in the East Division.

For us there is 16 conference games to go and yet, boy, these games this weekend seem really important because they are home games. It's kind of early to call them must-win, but they are really important games.

We let a couple get away (this month) that were important. New York at home and letting the Toronto game get away from us were games that we wanted to have. But winning at Boston was a big win for us. It was important to have a good road trip and then come home and play well.

The important thing about tonight's win is that it gave us the conference outright. We talked about how important that was before the game.

We once went 13 games without winning. There's always pressure here. Winning is always important here. How you handle yourself and compose yourself is important. I think the players and staff have shown great dignity despite the criticism leveled at them.

I gave it some careful thought and talked a lot about it with my mother. And we knew what was important to us. I'm on track to graduate, and that's important to me and to my family.

We knew it was going to be a great game. We got them at our place; they got us at theirs -- that's even up. That makes the next two pretty important, being I-8 conference games. We knew what we needed to do to stop them, but we didn't do a good job with what our game plan was.

It was super important. This game (conference opener) last year was the catalyst for us and it is especially important to win your home games.

I told our kids (the win) wouldn't be as big as a district game, because district games get you to the state tournament, and it obviously wouldn't be as important as a playoff game, but from where we were, at this point of the season, it was as important a game as we've played in a number of years this early.

It's vitally important to be winning games at this stage of the season. We've gone six games now without winning so that's a real priority for us. We're drawing too many games and that's something we have to work hard on. I'm hopeful we can finish strongly.

I don't want to think about it, but now I have to because I'm at 19. It is important to me and to my family, but it is also important to the team because it means we're winning games.

We knew East wasn't going to lay down. We knew it was important to them, but it was important to us because we wanted to win.
