I generally have a problem with Microsoft limiting software to those people who buy SA, ... And this is strange. Microsoft says that unless you pay a premium [by signing up with SA] you can't use this [single disk image] to deploy our product? That's just a way to irritate customers.

This is Microsoft moving toward offering [all of its] software as a service, ... Microsoft will ease into it because they don't want to give up the product revenue before the services revenue can ramp up.

We are trying to put a 'services plus software' mentality into many of the product groups inside Microsoft.

Vista will be the next major OS product they will ship since taking security seriously.
