It's difficult when your ordsprog

It's difficult when your freshmen are leading you. You have to give 40 minutes of effort in college basketball to be able to win and we didn't do that tonight.

That's one thing we stressed, was working to not give up the bonus points. I said, if we brawl with them for six minutes, let's see what happens. Our kids gave a great effort. Last week, we didn't wrestle to our top against State College. We were kind of lethargic, really lazy. It was a lackadaisical performance. I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

We revealed our youth a little bit tonight. This was the first time all season our freshmen became a bit timid and passive, and we tightened up those last two to three minutes. But you have to give them credit, they made some big plays to give us some breathing room.

Rashad wanted to be so good tonight, and of all guys who I thought wanted the limelight at home, it's really unfortunate he didn't have the kind of game he's capable of having. He's a terrific basketball player ... the best sixth man in college basketball.

I didn't want to play junior college football. I just wanted to go home and focus on basketball. I knew that basketball would be my route to college.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. The score doesn't resemble our effort. I'm proud of our effort. In similar situations this year we've laid down and let them kick us. Tonight we didn't do that. We played together, and I feel with our effort tonight we could do well.

It's not like we've been playing bad for the last month, but we didn't put in an effort like we did tonight for 60 minutes, and it's great to see. We just put the working boots on.
