We know that a three goal lead is never secure. They didn't get too many chances. We could've easily doubled our goals. We had a couple shots hit the post from five feet out.

They buried their chances and we didn't. We hit a post, a crossbar, and had a goal called back. Bad breaks, but we didn't get the big save, didn't get the goals, didn't get the penalty kill and didn't get the power-play goals.

We had 39 shots and hit the post three times. We had two goals disallowed and I don't think either of those calls were right. So, this wasn't a bad game for us. We could easily have won, but we didn't.

Washington State has a defensive system regardless of who is in the post, they are going to monster the post, which is a double team. Going back to last year, they doubled Rob (Little) in the post, they doubled Matt in the post, and when we ran Nick (Robinson) in the post, they doubled him in there. Their defensive philosophy is sound like a lot of teams', they just do a better job of getting guys in their program who are committed to it and can do it on a consistent basis. We passed it to them on the first one. We gave them a couple of goals. You give that team a couple of goals . . . And we didn't take care of our chances. We had our chances there, and we just didn't put them in.

We played really well. Down the stretch we had chances. We had a chance to get a lead; they hit a couple (of shots) and we didn't.

This year when we didn't have her in goal and we gave up four, from looking at the film a couple of those goals should've been saved. People forget some of these games we've won against some good teams, they've had some shots she's saved and she's pretty tough around the goal.

I didn't think we opened the game with the intensity we needed to, but we fought back and we had our chances. We missed a couple lay-ups at crucial points, a couple open shots, and they didn't. They hit those shots, that was the difference. Both teams played pretty well defensively.

We had a lot of chances and a couple empty nets. Luongo made a few big saves on shots that are normally goals.

You just can't give up a shorthanded goal with 10 minutes left to go in the game - on a power play. That's unforgivable. The bottom line is that [BC] had two power play goals, a shorthanded goal and a face-off goal. And a team like BC - when they get those chances - will score on half of them. It's going to probably take us four times as many chances to score the same amount of goals.

We had some really nice chances, some from way out. I knew if we got up two goals we wouldn't let the lead go. But as long as it was one goal, sometime West Carteret would go on the attack with confidence.

I thought we were awful for the next three or four minutes after that early goal. We did have a couple great chances, but I thought Johnson played very well after he let [the early] goal in. But I thought that's when we were our sloppiest, after that goal. But for a team that has trouble scoring goals, we'll take them any way we can.

I think we were flat, and it's happened way too many times for us this year. For some reason, we've come and given teams chances to get the lead on us. It's difficult once you're down a couple of goals to get back and obviously, it gives them confidence and boost, too.

It's tough to have a four-goal lead, sometimes, because you lose your concentration and the other team takes a lot of chances. They got a lot of shots. We wanted to keep them on the outside as much as we could, and Marc-Andre was phenomenal.

We were playing well and we had a two-goal lead, and we had the opportunity to really get a good cushion. I think that was a big deal in the game. We couldn't get that three-goal lead. We kept getting our shots and getting our shots and we just couldn't put them away.
