I am delighted that Joe Maddock has extended his contract with Bath Rugby. He has played particularly well in the second half of the season in a number of positions and he is a back-three player who should add some excitement to our game next season. It was a very hard decision to make as I have really enjoyed my time at Bath. All the players, coaches and support staff here have been great to me, but I made the decision to leave Bath Rugby as it meant that I would have greater opportunities to play first team rugby.

Ryan Strudwick is an exceptional rugby player and person. I knew of him long before I came to London Irish and was aware of the high regard with which he is held throughout the professional rugby playing community in this country and abroad. He has been a remarkable servant of London Irish over the past eight years and ranks among the great ambassadors of the club and the game. While there will be an opportunity to say a proper farewell before he leaves at the end of the season I want to take this opportunity to express publicly the gratitude of the directors, management, players and supporters for all he has done.

Mike has been brilliant for us. He is a Bath boy and there has been a massive interest in him, but if we can keep winning we might convince him to stay here. He has a great rugby intellect and is sure to figure very heavily in the future of English rugby.

He walked about a half hour, had his bath and is doing fine.

Patrick didn't follow through with what we wanted him to do. But he can start next year with a clean slate. Ryan is off the team for disciplinary reasons and Marc is in California.

Roy's first bath was to clean his clothes. His second bath was to clean Roy, that's what he told me.

It says a lot with all the crap we went through, especially recently. No one's happy about the way this season ended up, but now it's a clean slate.

We didn't do the things we wanted to do in the regular season. So the slate is clean.

Despite the fact that we have won, we kept a clean sheet and stayed top of the table, the players are pretty disappointed with their display in the last half hour. We were exceptional for an hour.

I guess with the new coach and given the injuries at the back end of last season, it's probably a clean slate for everybody in contention.
