I really enjoyed the partnership and you've got to give Glenn McGrath a lot of credit.

We played really well. We bit the bullet and did the hard yards on day one and after Michael Hussey and Glenn McGrath played well on day two we knew South Africa would have to bat really well to get a decent total. We bowled well, fielded well and have dominated the first two Tests to lead 1-0.

I want to challenge myself against the best and the Australians are the best. Glenn McGrath is a huge loss. The other pace bowlers haven't taken nearly as many wickets as Glenn and that might be to our advantage.

You only have to look at Glenn's figures to say he's always a viable option. But obviously from his point of view there are a lot of family issues that need to be sorted out first. I guess we all wait and hope that it works itself out, and if it does then I'm sure you'll see Glenn McGrath striding in and adding to that tally.

If Glenn [McGrath] doesn't go to South Africa Jason [Gillespie] is a must. He has been there twice before and done well. If they don't take him then I think it's the wrong mix. They need some experience there. Brett [Lee] has held up magnificently but if Glenn wasn't there you would need some experience.

I think he's a class player. He's proven he's one of the best fast bowlers for as long as we've been playing and I'm sure he'll be in the World Cup and lead the attack as he always has and do well. He's a big-match player, when the World Cup comes around McGrath will take the new rock and do extremely well. I don't think there's any doubt about Glenn McGrath being there.

Glenn McGrath six years younger, that's exactly what he's done for us.
