The only thing I can say about that is just we haven't seen something that fast. It wasn't overpowering, but when you're use to seeing 78-82 (mph) it's kind different. He was bringing it pretty good. He was fooling a lot of people with that breaking ball.

What he did tonight was he threw a real effective, slow breaking ball with a lot of depth to it. A real good spin rotation. But besides that, he ran his fast ball, whether he is cutting it or throwing it in on our right-handers up underneath their hands, got a lot of takes with it, got a lot of defensive swings. Well, he's got good stuff. He throws the ball hard. He has a good slider, has a good breaking ball and the ball moves. Right now he's pretty well in a low strike zone on his pitches. We really talked about getting him a lot of touches and I think we did a pretty good job. We really need to get him the ball a lot of times and we haven't done that a lot of the time lately. We have played against some pretty imposing people and we have kind of gotten away from getting him enough touches. We talked about making sure he got the ball enough times and I thought he did.

I'm impressed with that kid. He threw as good a breaking ball as you'll see anywhere. Nobody has a breaking ball that tight. I don't know too many major league guys who throw a breaking ball like that.

I think the Mavericks -- our team -- we've kind of forgotten who we are as basketball team and what made us successful. It wasn't shots on the offense. It wasn't holding the ball. We've kind of looked like some of our old teams with one guy pounding the ball instead of ball movement and player movement. We haven't been physical. Is that because we've been fatigued? I don't know. I know we've been a step slow. I can see that -- mentally and physically. We just need to get back to being who we are, and I think that will give us a better chance to win some of these games.

Brett pitched a good game today. He was hitting his spots real well. His breaking ball was working. He caught a couple of people with a breaking ball in the dirt.
