Hopefully after the break we'll be able to get in a little more practice and everybody can get acclimated.

Their record doesn't indicate it but they have talent. Those two guys that became eligible [after first semester] have had time to practice and become acclimated to what it's like to play in a game. We don't want them to get well against us.

The facilities here are nice. We wanted to practice on grass and we wanted to get acclimated to the climate. There's some wind here and other things that we're not used to at home.

I think the break really helped us. We were on a losing streak going into the break and it was good timing for us to get away from the game. We had a great week of practice and I don't think there was doubt in anyone's mind that we were going to play well tonight.

Certain days, I'd stay for both. High school practice was usually 3 to 5, then club practice was later. We'd have break days where there wouldn't be quite as much. I've just always liked to do both. Today was absolutely as good as I can play. And I was scared to death. I played a couple practice rounds leading up to this event and hacked it all over the place. I didn't even break 90 in my practice rounds. This is a dream come true for a hacker like me.

I think it's a big disadvantage because I think you need to be playing. It's one thing to practice. ... About six or seven years ago we had a similar situation. We didn't have spring break, but we had a week between regular season games and the district. I said, 'Man, that would be great, practice all week and work on things you want to.' We were flat as can be going into districts.

That's something that Coach was harping on (during the break) at practice. We didn't have a game for like 11 days, but those days at practice, that's all we were doing, just running and pushing the ball in transition and trying to get more points off transition.

It's nice when you can get any time off during the season, other than the All-Star break. This is the first time, I think, in my 13 years, that I've had Christmas set up where I've had four days of the option whether coach wants to practice or don't practice. It's nice to have it.

A break in the schedule could be good or bad. If you're hot and on a roll, you want the games to roll over. But a break also gives you time to practice and rest, so I think it's a good thing for us.
