Demand for PCs is weak and microprocessor prices are becoming more aggressive, ... To stimulate PC demand and improve Intel's long-term competitive position, we believe the company's Pentium 4 price cuts will become more aggressive.

In Japan's case, consumer demand has not been that strong for a long time so companies haven't had that much pricing power. In China, consumer demand is reasonably strong but there is very aggressive competition.

There were probably three times as many companies using N shares in the past compared with those left today. And I believe the market showed its disapproval through the discount that N shares have historically traded at against ordinary shares. At the end of the day it's all about how a company performs.

Bandwidth pricing in Asia is still declining. We see lower unit pricing from our suppliers. The question is how long that trend will continue. It won't be forever.

I think the shares will initially go down. Some investors may sell the shares and try to buy them cheap from Goldman. Goldman would probably be selling them at a discount.

While it is conceivable that Stern would sell some shares to cover his multimillion dollar tax bill on the shares, it is unlikely in our opinion that he would unload all of the shares in the short run since the company is in a high growth phase where stock returns are likely to be the highest and perhaps may generate higher returns than other investment options.

We think supply growth is rather limited. In the meantime, ( DRAM) demand will not be so bad in those segments such as notebook (computer), server...and game consoles.

We saw a south Arkansas [timber ] sale Feb. 3 that had 17 bidders, which is an indicator of very strong demand and very high pricing. [Buyers ] are buying for next year on an 18-month cutting contract, so they have all next winter to cut.

It's clear that a significant portion of market demand was at the very low end of the PC market in the fourth quarter, driven largely by aggressive pricing and promotions.
