I think we're getting to where we want to be. We still have a few pieces to go, but the main thing is that all the girls are playing hard and our defense has been really good.

The main thing is that the girls played well as a team. They were successful playing together. Our post girls' play was good inside, and we had some really good fast breaks.

The main thing we've been focusing on is our team defense and I thought our team defense was very, very good today on a very hard and fast infield. So I was pleased with that.

The main thing is early we were playing good defense behind him (Bowers). He stayed smooth, and we hit the baseball is the bottom line.

Oh yeah. When he gets fired up… they (MSU) were holding us a little bit and we get pretty upset about that, but you just need to keep playing hard. The main thing I'll remember from this game is how hard the girls competed against a very good team. We're getting better every game.

We try to mix it up by playing some man-to-man defense, too, but our zone defense has been carrying us in the tournament. The big thing is we can't give up penetration. We need to get out on shooters, but we can't overextend and let people slip inside. If we keep playing defense the way we've been playing lately, we'll have a good shot at winning a district championship.

We got some pieces to fill but we're working hard to do that. I think generally we feel really good about where we are. We've added depth in places where we hadn't had depth. The pitching and defense is very good right now. I think we're adding a couple more pieces on the team. I think if we do that, we'll be in great shape.

We just told the girls to play hard tonight. What ever happens, happens. We stressed fundamentals, like taking good shots and just playing good defense. We just wanted them to play hard. I think it showed tonight. We had a lot of energy.

I'm excited about it. I'm hoping our girls can do well. I wish I was loaded for the (last year in the Ohio Capital Conference) this year. I know I'll have some champions, but as a team it's hard to say. We can't ever put all the pieces together. But I've got a lot of good young girls.

I think the girls now know, even if we get a little bit behind, that we can come back and stretch the lead again. The thing they did a good job of was playing defense. We stopped their fast break a little bit. They know when it gets tight like that, it's just as much our opportunity as it is (for the other team).

If you break them off into individual pieces, they are not that impressive, ... But they play well together. That's the thing that bodes well for us, is we're playing well together as a defense.

Shaud had a really good game and I think the defense was the main thing. I don't think it was our offensive prowess. Our kids knew they had to come out hard. I told them it was like a summer camp game where you have to be up early and ready to go. They did a good job preparing. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. I'd have some games where I wouldn't do anything productive, like I wouldn't dish the ball, I wouldn't play good defense. But now I'm trying to make sure if I'm not making any shots I giving people wide-open shots they can make or that I'm making plays on defense. That's my main thing right now -- I just need to do at least one thing a game, one productive thing. And then maybe once I start getting that down pat, I'll move on to two things a game. That's my main focus.

I knew we would probably start slow (offensively). The one thing we stressed this week was defense. A constant effort on defense should be there all the time. That's what kept us in the game early. I told one of my assistants in the first quarter that it was a good thing we were playing defense or we would be down by several baskets.
