We expected a strong opening, but the response was significantly better than even our most optimistic projections.

While this is a second-tier economic number, this just shows how robust the housing sector is and that it is strengthening from already strong levels. Bonds have sold off in response to this, as well as the very strong stock opening.

The commentary was a lot more optimistic than I expected it to be given the high oil prices. The outlook was also a little more optimistic than I would have expected.

Earnings and revenue were both significantly better than expected. The gross margins were also very strong, but the company did reduce expectations for the first quarter.

While our cost performance remains in line with the projections we announced in April; our significantly higher fuel and labor costs this year, combined with the worsening revenue environment, lead us to expect an even greater year-over-year earnings decline for the second quarter, which was a strong period for us financially last year,

Last week was good. The customer shifted into gift-giving categories and I am optimistic the month will finish out strong. We did significantly better in areas that were not impacted by the strike. The customer feels positive. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness.

As expected, we experienced payback in September following a strong performance to start the quarter. We're optimistic we can close the year on a positive note with the introduction of our new mid-size cars.

The dollar's bearish (weaker) trend is expected to continue unless the GDP figures are significantly stronger (than exported) or the market finds strong signals for further rate hikes in the Fed statement.

The township did a study of its own prior to opening station 2. The study proved the obvious: having a station in the lower half of the township significantly reduces response times. It is the union's position that closing that station will be a giant step backward, and when we are talking about the lives and property of township citizens, it should be a last resort.

Prospects for the economy have improved substantially from the lows recorded following the Gulf Coast hurricanes and the surge in gas prices. Firms still expect a slower overall pace of economic growth during 2006 than in 2005. The expected growth slowdown is mainly due to anticipated increases in interest rates. Firms are much more optimistic about their own prospects in 2006, as they expected strong growth in revenues and profits.

The end result was revenue projections that were significantly overstated, costs that do not appear to be reasonable for the service delivered and contracts that do not adequately protect the city from financial risk.

We are thrilled with the positive response we've received without even publicly announcing our re-opening. The first week's sales far exceeded what we expected, considering September is typically a slow period for us. Our employees and our regular patrons have made it clear that they love the restaurant's new look. This instant success reinforces our belief that re-investing in our brand and this restaurant was a smart thing to do.

We are very pleased with the results from the opening weekend. Given the overwhelmingly positive audience response to The IMAX Experience®, we look forward to strong results for weeks to come. V For Vendetta and Deep Sea 3D are a great one-two IMAX punch for moviegoers this spring.

I don't see myself as an icon. I was very moved by the response to my book; it brought me into relationship with many people whom I otherwise would not have met. I also discovered that in becoming a public figure, I became a focus for all kinds of projections that had little to do with me.
